The bomp list

Please note that the bomp list (bomp-L) discussion group is in NO WAY associated with Bomp Records. The list was started over 10 years ago with the label's help, but Bomp records has had nothing to do with the list for many years and is NOT responsible for its content.
If you are looking for Bomp Records please click here.

The bomp list, sometimes known as bomp-L, is a discussion group for surfadelic garagepunk music, culture, and whatever else we feel like talking about. If you're interested in the bomp list archives, you'll find them here.

Please be aware of the following:

1. Personal attacks directed at other subscribers will not be tolerated. It's one thing to say "that band sucks"; it's another thing to say "you think that band sucks? you're an asshole". Disagreements are fine, but they should be limited to the topic being discussed, not the people engaged in the discussion.

2. The above also applies to anyone responding on-list to a personal attack. (Hockey fans can compare this to a player being penalized for joining a fight.) Of course when one has been attacked or insulted, a natural response is to defend oneself. Unfortunately, that usually only serves to escalate things, and on a list of 650 or so people that's not going to serve any purpose. Besides, about 645 people aren't really going to be that interested. If you want to respond, please do so off-list.

3. A subscriber engaging in a personal attack will initially receive a warning. A subsequent personal attack will result in the subscriber losing his/her posting rights for a week.

There are two versions of the list - regular and digest. If you subscribe to the regular version of the list, you'll receive each message as it's sent to the list. If you'd prefer to get a whole bunch of messages in one large e-mail once or twice a day, then the digest version is for you.

To subscribe, unsubscribe, or switch to or from the digest version just fill out the form below. If your browser doesn't support forms, or you're just old-fashioned, you'll find instructions on how to join via e-mail here. Note that the host name and IP address of the computer that submits this form will be recorded, so no funny stuff!

Once again, as stated at the top of this page, the bomp list (bomp-L) discussion group is not connected in any way with Bomp Records, and Bomp Records is not responsible for the content of messages posted to the list.
